With a solid background in painting, Germaine has focused on the process of drawing for many years. Informed by Eastern thinking – mainly Lao Tzu's "Tao Te Ching" and the teachings of Japanese "Wabi Sabi", the meditative nature of the drawing process is inherent in her work. It has a contemplative quality and offers a sense of intimacy and simplicity.

Recent developments show a shift from the monochromatic towards colouration, signifying the celebration of life and abundance.
